Was just up there 2017-02-20 the fishing was slow but did pull out 2 tiger trout. Heads up for anyone going there, we found out the hard way. The lake has 9 different springs in it so you need to be carefull when driving on it.

I'm thinking about brining the family up for a ice fishing trip. Have some family in Prince Albert which we're staying at. I have 3 young boys who would like to catch some fish. Can anyone give me any pointers. I'd love to catch a couple trout. Thank you

Awesome weekend at Piprell. Trout are starting to move up in the water column with daytime depths of around 20 feet and as shallow as 4 feet during morning and evening feeding. There were still small choronomid hatches, but had my best luck with size 12 balanced leech under a strike indicator. Tigers seem more aggressive during the mornings and rainbows being more in the evenings. Monday morning was calm enough that I was able to sight fish for tigers on the shallow flats. Very exciting!

I was at Piprell for the long weekend and caught some rainbow trout, other people caught tiger, splake and brown. There was a cold front that started on saturday and it was not very pleasant to be on a boat. I was happy with the rainbows though!

Matthies2 don't be discouraged. Mid august can be tough everywhere because of water temp. We were up a couple different times in July & August including the week ending at Labor Day weekend. We did well all times with several fish around 2 lbs, including a Tiger over 2 lbs and my wife caught a Brown around 4 lbs.

Just spent 3 days here, cabins were ok, but caught zero fish, tried at every differant time of day and caught nothing! Might as well travel the extra 25km and go to Summit!

Fishing was slow until about 5:00 pm. Whe caught 5 trout on Meps spinners trolling at 1.8 mph with about 80 yards of line out.
