Seen one dead carp floating in the water by Laumans landing, and found another dead carp about 6-8lbs across from Laumans boat launch by the island!

by weeman on Jun. 2, 2020
Small fish cause the natives are netting it the ones you do catch of any size have better marks on them

by Nawtpro on Aug. 13, 2019
Was out on Saturday the 10th. 3 man limit of nice walleyes. 50-65cm. Plenty of nice pike mixed in. And 2 perch. Wicked day!!!

by Fishcommander on Aug. 3, 2019
Caught a few small to mid size pike. Lake did not meet my expectations, but I guess I shouldn't base my opinion on one day of fishing.

by iFish Guest on Mar. 22, 2019
Any snow left on lake for a sled or is it full of water on top

by Crowdpleaser on Feb. 17, 2019

How did the tourny go on the weekend?Where can a guy see the results

by Ranger 86 on Jul. 6, 2018
It's a big tough lake man, not sure what to tell you. The usual, weed beds, drop offs, sand flats or the combination of. The best advice I'd say is on a big lake your not familiar with is trust your electronics and don't stop that boat to fish unless your marking fish so that your not wasting time fish dead spots or use faster techniques to cover water.

by Woz19 on Jun. 28, 2018
Budddy of mine has a lake lot here gonna head up this weekend any tips or spots a guy can catch walleye here any comments to help would be great

by Ranger 86 on Jun. 14, 2018
How about those leech live bat rules? Let's get that going on here for those that don't know so they don't get hammered with a whopper ticket.... must have leeches bought in sask & have your receipt on you, mean while the CO's don't even know where a lot of the leeches come from. Which is the states or eastern Canada, I mean a few are local and / or Nipawan sask but it doesn't matter if it's Alberta or sask the bait is bought from usually the same suppliers. If your receipt is to old the CO's hassle you.. Then if you have a green plates or sask license they usually don't ask about leeches which is a joke. Fair is fair, ask and proof required across the board because if someone can't find leeches in sask guess where their getting them from... Alta

by Kevin p on Jun. 13, 2018
I like your idea Travis. I'd still like to see the spawning areas closed also.

by Ranger 86 on Jun. 13, 2018
But any ways how’s everyone making out out there?

by Ranger 86 on Jun. 13, 2018
So as of right now Walleye limit is 3 and only one may exceed 55cm.... I think They need to adjust that limit to 2 walleye & only one over 51cm, zero over 58cm. I also think perch should be narrowed to around 16 but that's just my 2 cents.

by Mark d on Jun. 8, 2018
We def need more fish and game officers there is just to much area not enough man power to cover

by Kevin p on Jun. 6, 2018
Ranger86 %u201CTravis%u201D what are you suggesting to the fish and game to take care of this problem? My suggestions to them seemed to go to def ears.

by Mark d on Jun. 5, 2018
I was in lloyd sat seen a truck pull up in a parking lot guys took fish out of there cooler putting them in bags had to be 3 walleye that would be lucky if 12%u201D long don't know what lake they were caught but wow the others were small to

by Kevin p on Jun. 4, 2018
I have been trying to get them to close rangers bay from February- end of July for a few years now to give the fish a chance to spawn. Nothing is being done. Reason they won't do anything is because it does not apply to everyone. The local netting will still be allowed. Most other normal lakes have closed areas to protect the spawn. Something needs to change. Maybe stricter slot sizes?

by Kensfish on Jun. 3, 2018
Im personally from Alberta and fish this lake lots, due to a lake lot being at this lake, but I think restrictions should be placed for everyone! I see people keeping fish all the time! Including small baby fish that never have a chance, but if you keep everything you catch, soon enough the fishing will be where it’s at now for a long time or just get worse, something should be done

by Kensfish on Jun. 3, 2018

by Mark d on Jun. 2, 2018
I agree something has to be done

by Ranger 86 on Jun. 2, 2018
All I know is you guys are going to see it this year, the flood gates are going to open.... everyone I know in the Lakeland area that fishes isn't even buying an Alberta license... there coming across the border from now on because they are tired of stupid ridiculous limits on Alberta lakes that make no sense & just seem like a money grab.. You'll see a big change this year on how many boats and fish will be pulled out of that meadowlake park area.. If guys are driving everyday from Alberta I'll tell you what- they will be taking a full limit because it's legal to do so and they don't care. So if no one calls the sask gov/enviro they'll just sit their with their legs crossed while your lakes get demolished... then it's too late, take years to recover. Call them up, send emails and pressure them to tighten the limits. Just like anything if you don't complain nothing gets done & the more people that voice concern adds cause to the subject.

by KayakCurtis on May. 27, 2018
Damonto correct. “ fit through doors”

by KayakCurtis on May. 27, 2018
Mark that's some of the dumbest s@#t I've heard in a long time. Can your head even for grouch doors with a Ego like yours.

by Mark d on May. 24, 2018
As I said why should sask residents have slot limits and restrictions so someone from out of province can catch the same amount of fish to me I think restrict the out of prov as we do hunting so we get the benefit of the fishing that our taxes pay for

by Kevin p on Apr. 12, 2018
That is an absolute garbage statement. I myself was born and raised in sask, moved to AB years ago for work. Own sask property at LDI. Stop the netting, put a slot size, close spawning bays. Not rocket science.

by Mark d on Apr. 11, 2018
I believe we need to up the out of prov fee for fishing and make a tag system for them once you get there lic then they would get so many tags for the year that would be it

by Kevin p on Mar. 28, 2018
I believe sask needs to tighten up there regulations. Shut down spawning bays, different slot limits, barbless hooks, and get rid of all the n netting. I see people over and over leaving the lake with there livewell full of fish. Take the few to eat and put the rest back. Just because your limit is 3 walleye per person per day doesn't mean that has to be kept all the time. People need to start using some common sense as well.

by Ranger 86 on Mar. 26, 2018
Get ready 2018 season for meadowlake provincial park to get hammered by alberta fishermen from just across the border... New Alberta regulations are out and the only lake in the Lakeland (Coldlake/Bonnyville/Laclabiche) area for a walleye limit is cold lake.... everything went tag system for walleye & 0 limit pike.. everyone better be phoning gov of sask environment to get regulations tightened up in the park or else it will be fished out in a couple years... it's comming!

by Tootall on Dec. 29, 2017
There is but you would need permission from the chief of big island reservation to drive on their land.

by Ba0420 on Dec. 25, 2017
Is there access to rangers bay from west ?

by Icefisher82 on Dec. 25, 2017
Thanks for whitefish info fellas

by Kevin p on Dec. 24, 2017
Whitefish... early ice they are spawning. Look for them is shallow weedy areas. As the winter goes in the deeper they go. 50-70' of water. Small wire worm hooks, Wetaskiwin spoon for an attraction hook. I have done well on ldi with a pickerel rig and minnow head with small hooks. They are fun. No worms in the ldi whites as welll.

by Curtis_w3 on Dec. 24, 2017
Ice Report: 18 in
18" in ranger bay

by Curtis_w3 on Dec. 22, 2017
Ice Report: 14 in
14-16" on north end of the lake

by Tootall on Dec. 22, 2017
I have never tried for white fish but I am told not too far below the ice surface but in deep water. Also they are as simply as a plain hook and worm or magot. I think u can have 3 single hooks off one line so check the regs but if so set at different depth. In summary I have never fished for them this is just fellow anglers stories/advice.

by Icefisher82 on Dec. 22, 2017
Fellas. Any tips on where to look for whitefish and how to target them? Don’t necessarily need to be on lac des iisles

by Kevin p on Dec. 17, 2017
Tents, shacks are a bad idea!! That spot can't handle 50 people on it.

by Ranger 86 on Dec. 17, 2017
If you know where I was all I ask is do not pop a tent up there. That's like a flag pole sticking out saying over here. Lol low profile, low key.

by Kevin p on Dec. 16, 2017
I seen your old drill holes. Fished the same area. They weren't there on my day.

by Ranger 86 on Dec. 16, 2017
That's on the ice.

by Ranger 86 on Dec. 16, 2017
I've pulled out 5lb walleye already this year.

by Kevin p on Dec. 15, 2017
Fished all over the main lake today in search of walleye!! No luck. Safe to say 1' of ice most places. But check for yourselves and don't go on my judgement.

by Buck9 on Nov. 18, 2017
Any ice thickness reports on Ranger Bay or main lake?

by Kevin p on Nov. 10, 2017
Made it out nov 3rd. Crazy cold!! Fishing was decent though.

by Buck9 on Oct. 19, 2017
Out on lake today. Nice calm day. Jack kept a guy busy n couple walleye to end the day.

by Ranger 86 on Sep. 11, 2017
Then last week the hogs were back where I was fishing again. 6 over 4 lbs in one day by myself. Like I said lots of spots but quite a few are come and go.

by Ranger 86 on Sep. 11, 2017
Oh yup, saw you in morning, motor shroud off. Ya I got 18 th. Went where I was catching hogs week / day before, nothing there. Then went to the go to spots where there's always fish and just got one hog. Need five hogs to win.

by Kevin p on Sep. 11, 2017
Didn't do as good as I wanted. Boat broke down in the staging area so I had to putt around all morning. Finished 13th

by Ranger 86 on Sep. 8, 2017
Ya your right there's lots of spots to fish but a lot are hit and miss, come and go type spots. There's only a few where you can go to pretty much every day and find fish, half way into the day guys were bunching up because those hit and miss spots weren't producing. how'd you do?

by Kevin p on Sep. 8, 2017
Sizes and numbers were most likely down due to high water levels. Tons of prime spots to fish on that lake. Boats were spread out everywhere

by Ranger 86 on Sep. 7, 2017
The reason the top sizes were down is probably because it went from 30 boats to 50. More competition on fishing spots, fish were spread out among more boats. Fishing was still decent.

by Kevin p on Sep. 6, 2017
Ryan Johnson won. Dave kohlrus 2nd place. It's a total cm out of 5 fish. Sizes were down from last year

by Buck9 on Sep. 6, 2017
How was the recent derby for weights? Anyone know who ended up winning

by Kevin p on Aug. 18, 2017
See the nets. Cut and sink them. This lake struggles as it it

by Ranger 86 on Aug. 15, 2017
Possibly why my walleye weights are down this year, probably taking a beating. That and more really good anglers are making an appearance out on the water.

by weeman on Aug. 13, 2017
How about worrying about the natives netting this lake was just there and nets setup in every bay you drive into

by Ranger 86 on Aug. 9, 2017
And how's it been here lately? And who sliced and diced the 10 lb eye at laumans? Just wondering if you realize how old and how many eggs that beauty lets go every year. you know I got no problem if you view it as a trophy and put it on the wall as a memory... hey good job. But to slice and dice it. Boys, boys, boys whatch ya doing.

by Ranger 86 on Jul. 1, 2017
You can use a few different techniques, jig with small jigs 1/32,1/16,1/8, drop shot with small trebal hook or a single hook tie on 12 inches from bottom, or slip bob with small bobber and small jig. All baited of course, just think of them same as a walleye just smaller tackle. lowest I'd go as far as line is 8lb cuz you'll still get a few pike hitting it.

by Jrr2284 on Jun. 30, 2017
Thanks I will be fishing the next 10 Days hope I get on them what were you using to hook the perch

by Ranger 86 on Jun. 30, 2017
I wasn't smashing perch on the lake till aug last year and they are in a lot of different places on the lake, find cover and weed matts along the bottom. They are in/outside rangers bay, west end weeds, laumans bay, island north side and the RM boat launch area. just like anything you have to find them, and to do that I cover a lot of water.

by Jrr2284 on Jun. 29, 2017
Ok thanks does anyone know where the Perch are this year rangers bay ?

by weeman on Jun. 29, 2017
Pike fishing is always good perch you gotta find, want walleye go to pierce lake

by Jrr2284 on Jun. 24, 2017
Hey guys going to the lake what's the fishing like for pike and perch as I've read the walleye isn't the best

by Damz on Jun. 20, 2017
Thanks Kevin, to bad that lake always was great to fish at years ago.

by Kevin p on Jun. 19, 2017
Haven't heard too many good walleye stories lately. I haven't been out much but the little I have the bite has been real tough

by Damz on Jun. 8, 2017
How is the fishing been heading down in two weeks? Any better than last year!

by waterhendude on Apr. 28, 2017
Does any one know if there is ice still or is it breaking up?

by Ranger 86 on Mar. 3, 2017
Not really sure to be honest, only been out there twice on account of moving and getting organized. Last time I was there guys were in and around laumans and up tight in the RM boat launch area. I fished the north shore for 2.5 hours in a blizzard by myself lol could only see like 50yrds. It was awesome, quiet and no one around. still got 5 hits, 2 pike outta the hole and one hit was an eye.

by Ripsomelip on Mar. 2, 2017

by Fishgod11 on Jan. 16, 2017
It's my bush trailer not concerned about scratching it

by Ranger 86 on Jan. 16, 2017
Ya I definitely wouldn't be doing that. First off you'll scratch the hell outta it on the way in, and that's a lot of weight. I don't even think I'd take a half ton out there.

by Fishgod11 on Jan. 16, 2017
Anyone have a ice report on rangers bay, looking to get out with one ton and enclosed trailer

by weeman on Jan. 15, 2017
Ya lol some of us have to work

by Kevin p on Jan. 15, 2017
I checked out your YouTube page. I see a wack of nice perch. No walleyes though. I have no interest in chasing the perch.

by Kevin p on Jan. 15, 2017
Well I wish I had your time in the winter to find them.

by Ranger 86 on Jan. 14, 2017
A fisherman doesn't wake up to yesterday's disappointments, He wakes up to today's possibilities.

by Ranger 86 on Jan. 14, 2017
Dude, go to my Facebook or YouTube page Surge Outdoors, I light'em up man.

by Kevin p on Jan. 14, 2017
Went out Friday and Saturday. Brutal fishing. I give up on that lake in the winter. It wins!!

by Kevin p on Jan. 11, 2017
Anywazzz.... how's the fishing been? Hoping to get out in a week or so

by Mark d on Jan. 10, 2017
What saying wasting money on what ever won't repeat it but as I said it's a fishing app not a app to spew your views on politics

by Kevin p on Jan. 10, 2017
Not even close to racist. Just the reality of what we are seeing happening.

by Mark d on Jan. 10, 2017
You know some of these comments border on racist this is a fishing app not complain about who's netting or who's fishing to much now as far as as I was told they have quotas of the amount of fish taking so it's not like every one has a net out and I talked to the fish guy for sask gov he says the amount of fish taking by fishermen men yearly even you good ones that put them back some die far out numbers the netted fish and to the other people saying waste of skin or other remarks about fish left let's just remember we have seen all people of all cultures do the same

by Kevin p on Jan. 10, 2017
They do net at the mouth of the river entering the lake. I seen them last May/June netting in Rangers bay. Apparently the reserve school even had a lesson there on how to net. Years back they used to net the river mouth on the east end as well.

by Tug is the drug on Jan. 9, 2017
New to the site. Been fishing lac des isles for quite a few years now and have to agree that fishing has been getting tougher. Have never seen a net on the lake though. Where are they netting? Over where cold river comes in?

by weeman on Jan. 7, 2017
Ya it's already happening as far as I'm concerned, it's a joke, if they want to do it they're way than use a bow and arrow and a teepee and stuff don't use anything we brought or made

by Kevin p on Jan. 7, 2017
It's pathetic. Bet the ice was littered with the suckers and burbots that they caught in the nets. If you want to live off the land then use what you catch. Won't be long and lac des isles will be netted out like canoe.

by bruno27 on Jan. 6, 2017
its all commercial fishing and they have quota and there is nothing we can do about it we went to keeley on wednesday and they were commercial netting the lake really disgusting too see talked to one native and they had 21 200 yards net set up and i got the same answer from with we need to catch fish to make money to feed my family but too bad we waste billions on those waste of sk.. every years

by KJK76 on Jan. 5, 2017
Ice Report: 22 in
Laumans Landing boat launch area

by Bradjelly on Jan. 3, 2017
Thick not think

by Bradjelly on Jan. 3, 2017
How think is the ice? Is it open near the rivers?

by Kevin p on Jan. 3, 2017
100% correct. Us honest ones are the ones being punished.

by weeman on Jan. 2, 2017
You know we go over this over and over, it's not the regulations for us that has to change, it's the Indians netting the lake that has to stop, I've been fishing this lake for multiple years and every single year it's been declining, and every fish we caught was a certain size with net marks on their backs that tells me that the natives are netting this place pretty heavy, look at canoe lake it used to be famous for walleye but the owner of north haven lodge even said the elders ruined his lake cause no there's no more walleye, I seen it one day they pulled a 50ft net in the canoe loaded with tons of fish, and they say well we feed our families well I eat them too, I don't chuck them in the ditch, its pretty sad I was sitting in the boat in rangers bay 2 years ago and a big white Buick came rolling down the hill and went right into the lake and the Indians were laughing and jumping off of it, so I called the fish and game and told them and she said well why are you reporting this what is it hurting!? I fiqured it wasn't great for the lake but that's my rant for tonight good luck

by Bullmoose300 on Jan. 2, 2017
Thanks ranger

by Kevin p on Jan. 2, 2017
I almost think the idea of only being allowed 1 walleye over 75 or 79 cm might be the answer for a few years. The bigs ones aren't that easy to catch. Do it like that for 3 years or so and see what the numbers do.

by Ranger 86 on Jan. 2, 2017
Ah... ya....I'm combining what your swathing. True.

by Kevin p on Jan. 2, 2017
I did have an hr and a half conversation with them. Some ppl suggested slot limits like Tobin. Or only 1 over like dore. I personally think rangers bay needs to be shud down for a few years to let the population come back. But they have to control the amount of fish coming out from the boys that are all over the west end now. I seen them pull a ton of fish out last May and June. Sad to see

by Ranger 86 on Jan. 2, 2017
Kevin go and email sask environment then leave your number. An environmentalist will call you back and have a chat with them about rules and regs and size limits. They then take that info into account when deciding new regs every year. If they don't hear from anyone they'll never change anything. They just sit in some office and get feed back from CO's and the odd net survey and not from the guys fishing the lake. Give them your thoughts.

by Kevin p on Jan. 2, 2017
Also doesn't help the population when ppl still keep every 4-8 lb walleye that they catch

by Kevin p on Jan. 2, 2017
I had the same conversation with sask fish and game about a test net. I think they need to close off Rangers bay to all fishing and to all ppl. Should be no netting allowed on this lake.

by Ranger 86 on Jan. 2, 2017
The other thing is I think people sometimes think of ice fishing the wrong way. "Don't just drill some holes where ever", think of it like this... the auger is the boat. What you would normally do with the boat do with the auger. There's certain configurations with ice fishing that I find work better than others at finding the fish. Then work that area, and being mobile I find is the key to success. Tight lines....

by Ranger 86 on Jan. 2, 2017
Bullmoose try 8 lb mono with 8 lb flouro leader like 3 ft long. with 6 lb I think you'd loose a lot of hardware. Go to Lorne's in G-soil get north shore shiners, biggest ones in the freezer. Say Travis told you to go there and then you should be good to go. Takes the right spot from there.

by Ranger 86 on Jan. 2, 2017
I would say like 8-16 ft, it's a wide range but you'd have to find them. Last year we pulled an eye, pike, Burbort and a white all 4 lb ers outta two holes ten feet apart in 8 ft of water in an hour.

by Bullmoose300 on Jan. 2, 2017
Appreciate any pointers, thanks ranger! I've tryed down to 12-14'

by Bullmoose300 on Jan. 2, 2017
6 pound test, tryed everything from minnows to worms to fake leeches to jigging raps pk spoons moose heart, slow and aggressive,

by Ranger 86 on Jan. 2, 2017
Ah the famous question. Just have to start looking man, it ain't littered with them. I already talked with the sask gov and environmentalists, there doing a netting survey this year and depending on that outcome there will probably be some changes.

by Icefisher82 on Jan. 2, 2017
Hey fellas I am new to the lake! Any suggestions on where to find walleye?

by Ranger 86 on Jan. 2, 2017
What do you have on for line? Pound test? Hook? Bait? How much do you jig, like aggressive or slow? And I'd say your to deep right off the hop.

by Bullmoose300 on Jan. 2, 2017
Tryed a couple days of walleye fishing, seeing a fare bit on the camera, not lots!! But the just don't seem very interested! Finallly caught one last night in 20'. Are they just not hungry right now, or am I doing something wrong? Anything special for bait? Or do they only bite first and last light here???

by weeman on Jan. 1, 2017
I'd like to see some pictures somehow of what it looks like there in the winter time I've only ever seen it in the summer, would anyone be willing to show me thanks

by Ranger 86 on Dec. 31, 2016
I've only ever caught them in shallow like under10ft. Usually on perch hooks and they'd be anywhere from 2.5-4 lbs.

by Kevin p on Dec. 31, 2016
Does anyone ever do well for whitefish on ldi? I caught a few last year but only in deep water. I know other lakes we have always caught them in shallow water. Anyone have a trick for this lake

by Rip Some Lip on Dec. 31, 2016
Lots of people driving trucks on Ranger Bay. 20 trucks out there on Thursday. Perch fishing was pretty good but had to stay at it. Very little tip up action for pike. Walleye are around the camera but sparse and not biting. We will see what happens today.

by Rip Some Lip on Dec. 29, 2016
Will keep ya posted for sure. Heading out in the morning and should get a good 6 hours in anyways. %uD83D%uDE0E%uD83D%uDC4D%uD83D%uDC1F

by Kevin p on Dec. 28, 2016
I have not been out yet this winter. Not looking good for me until February if I'm lucky. Good luck save a few for me.

by Rip Some Lip on Dec. 27, 2016
Went to Keeley last Monday. It was great fishing. 2/3rds of an auger depth. About 16-18" everywhere. Major ice heave across the whole lake. But the fishing was worth it. Hoping for some luck here.

by Rip Some Lip on Dec. 27, 2016
Hey Kevin and Ranger, I am heading up for a 3-4 day trip. How has the action been? Have you been into Ranger bay yet?

by Dorny on Dec. 25, 2016
Ice Report: 12 in
12 inches of ice in front of the cabin.

by Ranger 86 on Dec. 24, 2016
Depends where you are, 8-17 inches. Gotta drill and watch what your doing, flood water in some spots and a few decent heaves.

by Fishgod11 on Dec. 23, 2016
How much ice is there for the most part?

by Ranger 86 on Dec. 23, 2016
Been all over man, slaying them all month.

by Fishgod11 on Dec. 23, 2016

by Buck9 on Nov. 29, 2016

by Kevin p on Nov. 5, 2016
Went out nov 4th!!! Awesome day on the water. No eyes but lots of jacks. Tons of fun

by Kevin p on Sep. 15, 2016
Had to work for them but they are still biting.

by Damz on Sep. 14, 2016
Kevin did the walleye start hitting harder? Thinking of heading out this weekend!

by Kevin p on Sep. 10, 2016
LDI bite is surprisingly still good.

by Shooters on Sep. 7, 2016
Fished the diefenbaker classic this spring did not bad finished in the top 40 but thats not what its about! Fished hard and fell short big deal it was the experience that was awesome! Great people great competition and a lot of fun! Isn't that what its all about ! Sharing on here spreads the knowledge helping others have fun. Really doesn't matter what place you finish in any tourney or how big of fish you catch if you ain't having fun!!

by Kevin p on Sep. 7, 2016
That's kind of the purpose of this site. There are a lot of real good fisherman out there that don't think they are gods gift to catching a walleye. It's not rocket science. Some days are tougher than others. That's why it's called fishing... Not catching. Ppl come on here for tips, fishing reports and maybe even the odd spot to try have there kids catch a fish. Not like any of us are here to drop a net and clean the lake out.

by Ranger 86 on Sep. 7, 2016
Just thought I'd chat a bit cuz no one else says anything... Everyone just sits back waiting and chomping at the bit for someone to tell them where the walleyes are and what to use. Maybe even a hotspot to add.

by KayakCurtis on Sep. 7, 2016
All hail Ranger86... I've heard less BS on a construction site. What a douche....

by Kevin p on Sep. 3, 2016
Thank you crazy cattle farmer. Sounds like someone is having little man syndrome.

by Crazycattlefarmer on Sep. 3, 2016
Ranger 86. Obviously you have no idea what this Ifish is. It for lake reports and where the fish are on a lake and what works for catching them. Not for your consistent bragging. If you want to pump your own tires go tell your mommy and you can tell her over a bowl of ice cream. Get off the Ifish with all your bragging. Nobody cares. GET OFF!!

by Kevin p on Sep. 3, 2016
Never fished lake diefenbaker in my life. Pre fished it 2.5 days. Learned how to read my electronics well. I agree fish where it shows fish. I never drop a line until I see fish. Fished the premiers this year. Never fished there in my life. Finished 15 th.

by Ranger 86 on Sep. 2, 2016
I guess I'll add a tip here since I've been blabbin.... Fish fish not memories. If you arnt marking fish, not catching fish, boats around you arnt catching, get a move on it and try somewhere else. Don't sit there all day in one spot or area thinkin the fish are goona come to you. Go find them.

by Ranger 86 on Sep. 2, 2016
And you would of fished that lake how many times? My guess is you live or lived somewhere close and fished it a lot. Pretty good showing. I fished with a guy that was sponsored this year, showed me a few things, couple tips. Actually helped me on presentation.

by Kevin p on Sep. 2, 2016
My very first tournament was at lake diefenbaker " sask landing" 160 teams. Approx 25 pro sponsored teams there. Finished 7 th.

by Mat on Sep. 2, 2016
If ifs and buts were candy and nuts........

by Ranger 86 on Sep. 2, 2016
Kevin was your finish place in your first tourney?

by Ranger 86 on Sep. 2, 2016
Here's my story, I grew up fishing from shore and out of a canoe because we couldn't afford a boat. Just caught what bit. Then family boat at 16, no fish finder no nothin, just put a hook in the water and only caught what bit so pike. No one showed me how to fish for walleyes or lakers or rainbows, I'm self taught. Then at 21 bought my ranger... Ya at 21. and was always watching WFN and NWT tourneys. Learning from YouTube/TV then applying and trial and error the whole time. And now 8 years later I can walk onto a lake I've never even set foot on and compete with guys that fish that lake every weekend, and fished that tourney and have been in the tourney tour for years and I was right there. I can fish.

by Ranger 86 on Sep. 2, 2016
Moose lake I was right beside the boys that won, about 15 ft away and the guy that got 3rd was about 25ft away. So ya I was right in there. I was a bit ancy with the weighing and ending times cuz I wasn't sure if you had to be weighed through at the end time or just in the line. Like I said a couple choices that's all it was.

by Ranger 86 on Sep. 2, 2016
Went this morning lacdesiles got 8 eyes and with the size I caught would of been in 4 th. I measured just for kicks. And I was by my self one Rod.

by Ranger 86 on Sep. 2, 2016
One tourney only moose lake, and I finished 37/107. And I've never fished that lake in my life. Only a couple days two weeks before then two days prior to tourney. I was short one fish but if I would of made a couple of different choices I would of had that fish and it would of put me into top 15. First tourney though. I caught about 70 in tourney and other guys were having trouble.

by Kevin p on Sep. 2, 2016
Ranger 86. How many tournaments have you done? 34 finish is a long ways from being in the money in any tournament.

by Kevin p on Aug. 30, 2016
The guys that won it caught a 67 cm and a 75cm walleye. Tough to beat that. There unders were deadly also.

by Kevin p on Aug. 30, 2016
I finished 5th. There are a lot of ppl that know this lake very well. I never fished at all the entire day with any other boats. We all have our " secret" little spots.

by Ranger 86 on Aug. 30, 2016
Surge Outdoors Facebook / YouTube.... If your out there enough you'll recognize me.

by Ranger 86 on Aug. 30, 2016
I'm quite confident I could of placed top 3 if not have taken it. Winner averaged 58cm over 5 which is pretty decent for that lake about 4.5 pounders. I never pre fish the day before, show to many people spots, 2-3 prior and same time as tourney, have two boats hitting different spots at different times. How'd you do?

by Ranger 86 on Aug. 30, 2016
Didn't go in it, didn't think it would be that good. Not keen on having people measure, would prefer a neutral judge weighing /measuring because I've saw a lot of things happen, saw albertains squish fish and try and stretch them to try and make legal length. But half of one / twelve of another, weighing and sitting stressed in a live well isn't that great either but it definitely adds to the experience.

by Kevin p on Aug. 29, 2016
Ranger 86... Where did you place in the tournament ?

by Kevin p on Aug. 28, 2016
Congrats to the mcduff's for cleaning house in the LDI walleye tournament

by Kevin p on Aug. 24, 2016
Yep. It's a rush. I tournament fish also. And have done well. This one should be interesting

by Ranger 86 on Aug. 24, 2016
That should be ok, just gotta worry about catching them, that's it. Then take a pict. Those other tourneys picture this, 50 some boat in shot gun start, everyone pushin the line.... Then off to the races. Two groups 110 boats total on the water. Now you have to catch them, then only two in the live well at a time so which ones you keep? They have to be over 51cm then keep the heaviest two, then how long to keep fish in the well.... I run chemicals in well. when do you say ya lets go drive to the weigh boat. Now how big is the line up....there you are sittin loosing time. Total of four fish per day so you better make sure your weights are as big as you can. The whole time your heart is pounding ready to rip outta your chest. That's intense.

by Kevin p on Aug. 24, 2016
This weekend should be the real test. I can't wait

by Ranger 86 on Aug. 24, 2016
Same place they always are man, in the lake. Like I said this ain't no Alberta lake that's just littered with them because you have a different size restriction. Lots of different techniques, presentation, bait, speed, color, line size, size of lure. If one thing is off it can change everything. Hard to believe but it's true. It takes a lot of time to play with presentation, and tweak you set up. Like I said I was out there in a monsoon in 4-5 foot waves and waves crashing over now and still catching. Pike were 4-6 pounders and yes I weighed them.Walleyes weighed, well that's for me to know. Imagine how I do on a regular day.;).

by Kevin p on Aug. 24, 2016
So.... Where are the walleys at these days?

by Ranger 86 on Aug. 22, 2016
Caught 5 walleye in 4 hr and 10 northerns out in 40 km wind, 4-5 foot waves. Bilge pumps flowing, waves crashin over bow. The Eyes are right where they should be... Ranger Boats, driven to dominate .

by Kevin p on Aug. 21, 2016
Walleyes have vanished!

by Northernyaker on Aug. 21, 2016
The lake has not turned over yet, when the surface temps reach @ 50f that will happen.

by Kevin p on Aug. 21, 2016
It's a tough lake.

by Mat on Aug. 21, 2016
Tried for walleye all week long. Jigging, bottom bouncing, leeches, worms and minnows. Nothing but pike on the line. Tried 8-30 ft on some nice structure but not a sniff. Ran into a couple guys who said they hammer walleye in here all the time and it's easy Peasy Seemed far fetched to me but maybe they've got some honey holes. Even tried the down riggers off some sunken structures. Any other tips or ideas? Sounds like the lake turned over here not too long ago, any ideas on what that means or how to fish it? Beautiful lake and friendly people, if only a guy could figure out how to get some pickeral to the boat.... Not looking to steal anyone's honey holes but just a nudge in the right direction.

by Kevin p on Aug. 20, 2016
Maybe burbot also. I know they go deep for the summer. Friends went diving in cold lake down to 60 feet of water and they said it was full of burbot.

by bruno27 on Aug. 20, 2016
this time of year lakers are going to be at the deepest part of the lake . i was catching them between 80 to 105 in cold lake and water is much colder there but who knows

by Ranger 86 on Aug. 20, 2016
But who actually knows really, every lake is different.

by Ranger 86 on Aug. 20, 2016
Ya in this lake with its depth I'd suspect them to be in 65-80 ft. If their there.

by Kevin p on Aug. 20, 2016
I'm not all that experienced in lakers this time of year but wouldn't they be in more of the 60-80 ' range.

by Damz on Aug. 20, 2016
I did see that on my marker fish at 30' plus feet. Thinking the same that it could be lakers. Next time I will set up my down riggers hoping to catch something.

by Kevin p on Aug. 19, 2016
Most likely white fish. This lake is full of them. Catching walleye and pike and there bellies are full of small whites. Winter time I had the camera on deep water structures and there are giant whites in this lake.

by Ranger 86 on Aug. 19, 2016
Very good question, I would guess you were off pelican point. Here's what I know. I'm a local an have fished that lake my whole life, never saw a laker come outta there . Only until last year a pict of a 1.5 pounder caught in spring. I fish lakers on cold lake, I have saw what you are talking about. I've seen bait clouds, fish underneath and around at various depths, I've saw the surface birds hammer the top dive bombing minnows being pushed to the surface by fish. Now I've tried using same style and techniques I use at cold lake, I've had hits but nothing pulled to boat. Is it possible my set up was too big, I'm unclear. But what I do know is that it is possible to have lakers in there because cold lake , pierce and lacdesiles are all connected and it's not that far of a distance so fry or small minnows could end up anywhere. If there is lakers I'd like to be the first to catch them.

by Sterling on Aug. 18, 2016
Marking fish like crazy in the 40-60 foot off major points on the north side of the lake in large schools, fair size fish, almost look like lakers. Are they whitefish? I wouldn't think walleye or perch that deep.

by bruno27 on Aug. 17, 2016
damz its 20$ to launch your boat at keely kind of expensive but i been there 6 time so far this summer and always been catching atleast 100 + walleys and huge pike so it make it okay lol some lake up north are even more expensive to launch

by Ranger 86 on Aug. 17, 2016
Tourney is the 27, had to be paid up by June 30 th and it's not child's play my friend. The big boys will be there from the western Canadian walleye trail, I was fishing against them earlier in the year and I suprised some people that's for sure. Lol if you can't catch 8-25 walleye on this lake your in trouble. And yes I can do that day in/day out any time. Thing is you have to fish fish not memories, this ain't some lake like Alberta that's just littered with walleye, here you have to actually know what your doing, and tune every presentaion. I'd be in the tourney but I have to work, already been in a few this year.

by Kevin p on Aug. 16, 2016
Aug 27 walleye tournament. I believe out of the big island resort.

by Damz on Aug. 16, 2016
Kevin is their going to be a fish tournament at the lake on August 27?

by Damz on Aug. 16, 2016
Thank you for the info Kevin. I might take a drive up to Dore before the snow flys. I have been coming here for 20 yrs plus never seen it so bad. I think it is time to move camp, I don't want to its such a clean lake for the kids.

by Kevin p on Aug. 16, 2016
My neighbours parents have a cabin at dore. An amazing fishery there. Giant walleye and pike. Wish some of these other lakes would make better slot limits before we have no fish left

by Damz on Aug. 16, 2016
Any of you guys ever fish Dore lake?

by Damz on Aug. 16, 2016
Bruno is he charging to launch your boat at Keeley if you are not camping there? Last I heard was $20 a day to launch.

by bruno27 on Aug. 15, 2016
sure not the same danz that why im going to keeley canoe and churchill lake now way better fishing but more driving

by Kevin p on Aug. 15, 2016
I'm in it. I think it's a great idea other than I'm gonna get my butt kicked at the rate I'm going this year

by Ranger 86 on Aug. 15, 2016
So how do you all feel about the walleye tourney on August 27 th then?

by Damz on Aug. 15, 2016
Kevin I am heading out this weekend to the lake! I will let you know how the fishing is.

by Kevin p on Aug. 15, 2016
Thanks Bruno.

by Damz on Aug. 15, 2016
Great comment bruno27, you are a true fisher man!!! I do agree this lake is slowing down to catch fish not like it use to be!!

by bruno27 on Aug. 14, 2016
bull moose 300 you dont go in the shack because you catch fu..k all not because people ask question

by bruno27 on Aug. 14, 2016
hey kevin i been catching walleys on the north west side of the big island close to the weeds going from shallow to 30 fow in no time on minnows if not working bottom bouncers with flotting jig and minnows or something white work well for me and fuc...k those guys thay cant even help nobody around i been fishing all the lake from cold lake up to churchill and la plonge and in between if anyway question i will be happy to help anyone if you can't help an other fisherman quit using. this site

by Kevin p on Aug. 14, 2016
This lake sucks!!

by Ranger 86 on Jul. 31, 2016
Question, where ya catch them? "In the lake", what you use? " A sharp hook".... Lol that's all ya gotta say. If you want to look like a champ you go fillet in the shack.

by Bullmoose300 on Jul. 31, 2016
I don't fillet my fish in the shack! To many questions!

by Kevin p on Jul. 30, 2016
What boat are you running ? I think I seen you in the filliting shack today. I am showing walleye all over on the sonar but really having a tough time hooking up on them. Very frustrating when the bite is this light

by Bullmoose300 on Jul. 30, 2016
Limited out on walleye this morning nothing over 2 pounds though! I've never seen the walleye this light in this lake! Is it because they are still fairly shallow?11'-12'

by Damz on Jul. 26, 2016
Thanks Kevin!!! Heading out and taking the underwater camera to see what's going on. Will let you know!!!!

by Kevin p on Jul. 26, 2016
I fished all around the island last weekend. The fish were there but the bite was very very light. May have even been small perch. This lake is either hot or cold. No in between

by Damz on Jul. 25, 2016
Thanks Bullmoose300 I am at the lake now for 2 weeks!!!! Fishing has been slow, a lot a pike 2 to 5lbs. Hitting the big island hard no walleye yet!!!!

by mikevickers10 on Jul. 24, 2016
Fishing going well up here so far this time around. Decent size pike(3lbs-8lbs) and walleye(2lbs-3lbs). North west side of island is where you'll find your walleye. Keep it about 12-15ft

by Kevin p on Jul. 24, 2016
Well I'm stumped. Searched everywhere for those walleys. And no luck this past weekend.

by Bullmoose300 on Jul. 24, 2016
Damz!! Sorry missed your message back in May! Fishing has been average! Haven't caught a walleye in more then 12 feet yet! Should be getting deeper now! Going up August long!

by Chan on Jul. 17, 2016
We were out yesterday, caught about 20 pike. 1lb to 5lb fish. Nothing huge. Released most of them. Fishing was good on the north shore and Long bay. No walleye though.

by Fishkiller on Jul. 17, 2016
Two pike all day. Not one walleye... Wow...tried jigging, slip bobbing, and bottom bouncing.

by Bullmoose300 on Jul. 3, 2016
Fishing was good. Had to work hard but caught some walleye, couple jumbo perch, lots of jack including 2 10 pounders!

by Kevin p on May. 30, 2016
I was kidding. The fishing has been very good.

by Damz on May. 30, 2016
Heading back this weekend going to take my underwater camera.

by Kevin p on May. 26, 2016
Nope. No fish left in this lake.

by Damz on May. 20, 2016
Was out today for 4 hrs one bite fishing is slow. Was all over the lake.

by Damz on May. 16, 2016
Bullmoose300 you heading to the lake this long weekend coming up?

by Damz on May. 15, 2016
Just left the lake it dropped big time again hard to launch the boat.

by Kevin p on May. 12, 2016
Wow. Brutal!! There won't be any fish left. So much for a 3 walleye limit.

by bruno27 on May. 7, 2016
last i heard they are suppose to be all equal so i quess fishing wont get any better anytime soon

by Kevin p on May. 7, 2016
So does anyone know if the new law lets the Metis have the same fishing rights as the natives?

by weeman on Mar. 22, 2016
To blame the natives is not unbelievable, they take more than they're fair share with those nets, and they claim it's to "feed their familes" that's fine but what the hell do you think I'm gonna do with the fish, I was sitting in my boat over by bear point and Indians pushed a car into the lake they were throwing garbage into the lake there's no respect for the lake, nor the fishing, but when you start catching small pile with net marks in them it pretty much proves the point

by Kevin p on Mar. 17, 2016
I also did well last summer. Had to work hard for them though. But I personally don't keep every fish I catch. But I still don't believe that angling pressure holds a candle as to what gets caught in a net from the prime spawning areas. There will always be the greedy anglers but that's not the biggest issue here.

by Mark d on Mar. 17, 2016
I fished up there lots last summer had good luck on walleye caught lots of jacks but to blame natives is unbelievable I was at the dock listening to a guy from the area caught walleye that morn the he fished by us by the big island with 2 children that were 3to 6 and catch limit for him and them as we watched and tell us it was legal and left

by Kevin p on Mar. 16, 2016
Something needs to be done before it's too late!!

by weeman on Mar. 16, 2016
I been going there 22 years straight and last year the fishing was terrible small pike just squeezed through the nets the bigger ones had net marks on them never caught any over 5lbs it's the natives that are ruining it for us folks but everyone is to blind to see that, north buck lake in Alberta was the same story they took so many fish outta there you couldn't catch one its outta hand

by Mark d on Mar. 16, 2016
You do know the fishing has been bad pretty well all over just been one of those years but lakes where we have had great luck have been really slow or bad

by Kevin p on Mar. 11, 2016
Spent 2 solid days fishing hard! Fishing is terrible. Something needs to be done. Didn't even see very many on the camera. Something needs to be done about how many fish come out of this lake before it's too late. My guess the honest angler isn't the problem either.

by Kevin p on Mar. 3, 2016
Has anyone been out lately? Can a truck drive everywhere or is a sled needed?

by bruno27 on Feb. 23, 2016
nothing can be done governments are to chicken f... to see the real problem so the honest fisherman pay the price

by Kevin p on Feb. 22, 2016
Very very sad. So what can be done to make sure lac des isles doesn't get over netted like canoe? What about shutting down spawning areas until a certain date for all fishing. Eg rangers Bay Area.

by bruno27 on Feb. 19, 2016
so canoe isnt the greatest place to go i wanted to check it out this spring . hopefully they will stay out of keeley

by weeman on Feb. 19, 2016
Couldn't agree more with you, I also feed and provide for my family by working, we used to go to canoe lake when it was the lodge and the fellow native told us that his own people ruined that lake for the walleye fishery due to the netting they took way to much fish now there's barely any walleye to be caught

by bruno27 on Feb. 19, 2016
feed their families that a big load of sh.. i feed my family too and its called having a job to do it

by weeman on Feb. 18, 2016
Trying to feed their families

by weeman on Feb. 18, 2016
It's got nothing to do with the albertans coming over, how about the natives trying to feel their families netting that lake hard, I've been going here since I was 2 and go every year and you don't know how many fish we catch with net marks on them cause they just squeaked through the net that's where all our fish is going

by Kevin p on Feb. 17, 2016
Well that sucks. Wonder if everything is still in deep water. I've been fishing other lakes and everything is still in 25 feet.

by Bullmoose300 on Feb. 16, 2016
Very slow, a couple 5 pound jacks one perch one walleye! Seen lots of little perch but nothing worth catching! There wasn't many in rangers bay on Saturday so it might be cooling down to!

by Kevin p on Feb. 16, 2016
How did everyone make out family day weekend?

by Bullmoose300 on Feb. 13, 2016
Never found and perch of any size today! Are they deeper? How deep?

by bruno27 on Feb. 13, 2016
if you are not happy about the fishing regulations in saskatchewan well go fishing in alberta and quit crying about it nobody want to read that cr.p on i fish this app was made to discuss fishing help other fisherman and give tip and techniques . if you have the need to discuss your opinion about the regulations that you dont like call the gouv office

by Ranger 86 on Feb. 13, 2016
Tell me one lake in Alberta where fishing size regs and limits have been relaxed for keeping more fish . There isn't one. And if sask doesn't watch it the same will happen in time. People are to greedy, take , take , take. Then wonder where they all went.

by Ranger 86 on Feb. 13, 2016
How many houses are around lac des iles with people coming every other weekend? How many houses around keeley that come every other weekend? Which lake is closer with better access? Thus lac des iles is fished twice as hard. Albertans come because there population per lake is massive vs population per lake in sask.

by Kevin p on Feb. 12, 2016
I don't think it's fair to blame the bad fishing on Alberta ppl that own property on that lake. Go to keeley parking lot. 90% of the plates are Alberta there also. Lax des isles is still really good fishing just have to work a bit harder than other lakes.

by Ranger 86 on Feb. 12, 2016
Try keeley lake or waterhen lake, the more secluded the better the fishing.

by Ranger 86 on Feb. 12, 2016
A different lake than this one. Lol more and more development around the lake , the worse the fishing is. It's been going down hill for a while. To close to Alberta where people keep everything they catch . Sask needs way tighter regulations or all these lakes will be fished out in the next 5 years.

by Woz19 on Feb. 9, 2016
Where do u catch walleye and perch steady?

by Bullmoose300 on Feb. 3, 2016
I haven't found walleye in the winter but I haven't fished real hard! Im thinking same spots just deeper. I'd bring sled ice wasn't real thick on main lake and there has been some snow up there! Good luck, like to here how u make out, I'm going up on the long weekend!

by Joepopyk on Feb. 1, 2016
How are the walleye biting at this time ? Are they still found all around the big island this time of year ? Also , should I bring my ATV / sled to access some of the spots , or is everything truck accessible ?

by Kevin p on Jan. 5, 2016
Walleye are anywhere from 20'-35' deep. Different everyday.

by Bullmoose300 on Jan. 4, 2016
Haven't seen any nets! Haven't seen a walleye in the winter are they deep? Same places as summer at all?

by Kevin p on Jan. 2, 2016
Any nets set out? The nets take out a pile of fish each year also. Had the camera down today. Tons of jumbo whites and a lot of big walleye down there. Only got a few though.

by Ranger 86 on Dec. 31, 2015
Perch fishing is terrible, way to much fishing pressure with all the new developments . 3-5 years ago I'd crush monster perch and limit out. Now your lucky to catch a hand full of average when in a group. Was out today and counted 8 side by sides pulling shacks, 14 pickup trucks, 6 sleds pulling sleighs, imagine how many total people , imagine the possibility of fish being pulled out in a single day. This lake is going to hell, if Saskatchewan doesn't do something soon to tighten up regulations on lakes that are within close proximity to albertan populations or lakes with new developed areas the fishing will be terrible.

by Bullmoose300 on Dec. 29, 2015
How's ranger bay been for pike and perch? How deep?

by Kevin p on Dec. 27, 2015
Ice Report: 14 in
14" of good solid ice in the bay's. Trucks are driving. Not sure of the thickness in the middle of the lake.

by Bullmoose300 on Dec. 16, 2015
Anyone been out ice fishing yet? How's the ice, how's the fishing?

by bruno27 on Sep. 16, 2015
was at lac des iles last week for the first time and i found the water murky is it the usuall for this lake or was just a bad year with all the hot weather

by Dice Derbi on Sep. 13, 2015
Fished all day at various spots around the lake (Ranger Bay, Bear Point, Pelican Point, and trolled most of the north shore). Fishing very slow, pike only...the jacks that did bite were 3-4 pounds at the most. Talked to others on the lake and they all said the same. Weather was good and the lake was flat all day so that was a huge plus!

by Chan on Jul. 31, 2015
We usually catch some along the north shore also. Closer to the west end of the lake. We have nothing so far today.

by Chucky97 on Jul. 31, 2015
Where can you catch pike in this lake? Is Rangers Bay the best?

by Ranger 86 on Jul. 29, 2015
I grew up there , and I've never heard of anyone ever catching a laker in there . At any time .

by Shotfox on Jul. 29, 2015
Talking to the commercial fishermen in the area and there have always been Lakers in there just fished hard with the nets!!

On northern cross Facebook , probably came from pierce lake somehow.

by Ranger 86 on Jul. 23, 2015
First ever lake trout caught , 2-3 pounds , if there's one there's ...... So in five years we'll be fishing for them.

by proangler on Jul. 19, 2015
Slaying walleye by the mouth of the river usually catch 9 to 11 in about an hour and a half

by bruno27 on Jul. 17, 2015
actually i fully agree with you

by Ranger 86 on Jul. 17, 2015
Correction my friend , northern pike are the easiest, because of their cannibalistic nature. Just throw in anything that resembles a fish, frog, worm, leach they attack it. You don't need to be good at certain fishing methods / Techniques, special rods, line size, boat speed, or what is the choice bait. So a pike is the easiest.

by bruno27 on Jul. 16, 2015
walleys are the easiest fish to figure out study the depth map and you will find them right away good luck

by Ranger 86 on Jul. 16, 2015
Where are the walleye , lol no offence but there in the lake . This lake isn't like some little small fishing hole where you pull in and drop a hook and your pulling in walleye. It take days , spot to spot to find them. Usually when you do it's a couple and there nice size . So when it takes people a Long time to find spots, they don't tell anyone . Walleye move around a lot , season to season, shallow to deep, area to area. It's a big lake, it's taken me years to figure them out , good luck .

by weeman on Jul. 11, 2015
Would you mind saying where abouts you were on the lake thanks

by Bullmoose300 on Jul. 8, 2015
Caught lots of fish, including some real nice walleye! Had to throw some upper limit walleye back! Walleye averaged 4 lbs! Caught 9 in about 3 hours!

by Coach 66 on Jul. 1, 2015
I was out last weekend and the water temperature was up and the fishing was slowing down

by Damz on Jun. 29, 2015
Heading to the lake, how is the fishing?

by Coach 66 on May. 31, 2015
Water is down about 4 feet I would guess. Fishing is slow also

by Bullmoose300 on May. 24, 2015
How has the fishing been this spring? Is the water up or down?

by Bullmoose300 on Mar. 22, 2015
I heard the fishing has been slow all year even in Rangers bay?

by Chan on Mar. 15, 2015
The stakes mark the snowmobile trail accross the lake. The ice on Ranger's bay is good, no bites last nite though. Just a note to people not familiar with the lake, don't drive accross the narrows at Ranger's. I don't see it as being safe although I have seen it done.

by Pwillis on Mar. 6, 2015
I thought they were part of a skidoo rally? How'd you make out fishing? Heading up tomorrow

by Bigtunalover on Mar. 4, 2015
Does anyone know what the orange surveyor stakes are on the lake? I figured they were nets till I seen how many there were

by Travis on Dec. 15, 2014

How's the ice

by bailey novak on Jul. 28, 2014
Thank you very much chan, that was quite helpful

by Chan on Jul. 26, 2014
Rangers bay is on the west side of the lake, then head south and it opens up to a bay, beware the depth of water in the opening section. Go slow in the narrow part.

by bailey novak on Jul. 24, 2014
Can anyone tell me where ranger bay is located? Thanks

by iFish Guest on Jul. 23, 2014

Looking for a little info.. Is there any lodging around in the winter?? Is There bait shop in the area?? how do u get to ranger bay? And how is the ice and driving on the lake? Any info would be greatly appreciated

by Shotfox on Feb. 16, 2014
I had a few with them and I just plucked them out with the tip of the knife, there isn't anything wrong with the meat, it happens when the fish eat snails. If you don't remove them it is just like a little grain of sand!! I researched this a while back because there are a lot of lakes with the same thing in Perch!

by Pwillis on Feb. 16, 2014
Hey shotfox! Have u found all the perch have black spot? If so, are you eating them and are they ok?

by Shotfox on Feb. 10, 2014
Caught a bunch of Perch today all over 12", biggest over 15" and 1.75lbs.

by Shotfox on Feb. 9, 2014
The trail is well packed into Ranger bay, a lot of branches sticking out, scratches the truck pretty good! Fishing was good, got there a little late but managed 13 perch all 12-13" long, there are bigger down there too!!!

by Hammerin em on Jan. 16, 2014
Was jst wondering if anyone knows how the trail going to ranger bay is?

Week of July 30 - Aug 5 - fishing slowing down , very few walleye, pike on the small side 3lb or less. Rangers bay very murky, lots of weed growth, not worth the trip. Best fishing around Big Island.

by prosonik on Jul. 6, 2013
The fishing was slow early week, but picked up last night. The jacks are some best tasting fish you will try.

by iFish Guest on Jul. 4, 2013

Such a beautiful lake to fish at. A couple nice bays that are always calm on windy days. We like to pack a lunch and spend the day here and set up fire and fish. Camp grounds are also clean. Beaches are great aswell. Oh I love this lake.
