First time we visited this lake. Fishing was great. Very busy lake though wish people out tubing, skiing etc etc. Lots of idiots driving their boats as well. Was quite windy when we launched but lake has so many coves we decided to hide in one for the day and water was calm and fishing was awesome. I will be visiting this lake again in the future.

Camped at the park August 2013. We didn't bring the boat with us, we fished from the blue suspension bridge. We only went out a couple times but caught a couple each time. The bridge isn't ideal, it's a royal pain to land from. But if you don't want to deal with it the park has a great selection of boats to rent from canoes & kayaks right up to pontoon boats. They are a little overpriced, but a great option if you want to get out on the water.

I went out there for a camping trip and our primary activity was to be fishing. Unfortunatly there is no where to fishing off of the shore that isn't strictly reeds or a boat launch constantly coming and going with boats . If you don't have a boat don't bother fishing . Also sourounding lakes such as jackfish lake was a slue. I cast about 60 feet into thw lake and lost my lure to weeds immediatly. All roads in the park leading around the lake were "unmaintained enter at your own risk" and areas that were fishable were labled as staff only... All other roads that look as if they will lead to other lakes just randomly stop. I checked the map and most sourounding lakes don't have roads leading to them. I was very dissapointed with Madge lake and sourounding area. You would think that before investing 10 million dollars of tax money into 130 more campsites they may have wanted to provide a road so that there was something for all of these visitors to see? If you're looking for an adventure you're going to the wrong place .

Go about 20-30 feet out from the reeds. Caught our limit of walleye here, perfect size for eating!!!
